My Journey Into Writing, SEO, and Digital Marketing
After completing my engineering from a private institution, I began my career in a call centre. At that time, I had decent communication skills and was comfortable using English in daily work. I could understand English content, watch international series, read newspapers, and follow educational talks with ease.
However, things started to feel uncertain when I began comparing my path with my colleagues. Many of them were working in development roles or core IT profiles. That made me reflect on my own direction and skills.
I realized that I had not invested enough time in structured learning platforms like online courses or skill development programs during that period. This created a sense of confusion about my long-term career path.
Then came the COVID-19 pandemic, which changed everything. Like many others, I experienced uncertainty as traditional campus placements and offline opportunities came to a halt. Everything shifted to digital platforms.
During that time, I started exploring blogging in my free hours. I even managed to monetize my blog at one point, but due to lack of consistency and direction, I eventually stopped and deleted it.
Restarting My Writing Journey
After some time, I decided to start writing again. This time, my goal was clearer. I wanted to build a long-term presence in content writing and SEO.
I also began learning Search Engine Optimization (SEO), where having a website and online presence is extremely important. Through research, I realized that reading articles or watching videos alone is not enough to become skilled. Practical implementation matters more.
This motivated me to restart my blog with a more focused approach.
My aim now is to learn deeply and share knowledge about SEO and digital marketing in a simplified way. The idea is to help beginners understand the basics and gradually build skills that can lead to job opportunities or freelance work.
Learning SEO and Website Basics
When you create a website, one of the first things to focus on is performance and speed. Website speed plays an important role in search engine rankings and user experience.
There are several tools that help measure website performance:
- Google PageSpeed Insights (based on Lighthouse metrics)
- WebPageTest.org
It is often recommended to test websites in an incognito window to avoid cached data affecting results.
Once a website is live, connecting it with tools like Google Search Console and Google Analytics helps in tracking performance, traffic, and indexing status.
Lessons From My Experiences
Over time, I explored different online learning platforms and courses, including digital marketing programs. Like many beginners, I faced challenges in applying what I learned in real-world situations.
I also learned an important lesson about online safety after encountering misleading opportunities online. That experience taught me to be more cautious and to verify information carefully before taking action.
Despite setbacks, I continued building small steps in content creation. Today, I consistently receive blog traffic, which motivates me to keep improving and learning.
Transitioning Into IT and Digital Skills
For anyone looking to enter the IT or digital marketing field, skill development is essential. There are many platforms available depending on budget and learning style, such as:
- Udemy
- Coursera
- Great Learning
- Coding Ninjas
- LinkedIn Learning
The key is not just choosing a course but consistently practicing and applying what you learn.
Fields like SEO, content writing, and digital marketing require continuous learning because tools and algorithms keep evolving.
Understanding SEO and Content Creation
SEO is a combination of technical understanding, content quality, and consistency. Writing for the web is not just about expressing thoughts but about structuring content in a way that is useful and easy to understand.
A strong website usually includes:
- High-quality, informative articles
- Proper formatting and structure
- Keyword relevance
- Regular updates
Search engines like Google prioritize helpful and user-focused content. That is why long-term success in SEO depends on providing real value instead of shortcuts.
Final Thoughts
My journey has involved learning, experimentation, and setbacks. However, it has also helped me understand the importance of consistency and skill development.
Writing and digital marketing are fields that require patience and continuous effort. Results do not appear overnight, but with time, improvement becomes visible.
In the coming time, I plan to explore more advanced SEO techniques and continue building my knowledge in this field. My focus remains on learning, improving, and sharing practical insights through my writing journey.
